Kevin Martino
Born and raised in Covington, Louisiana, Kevin Martino graduated Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in fine art focusing on sculptural printmaking. With a focus on southern- style street art, rap culture and graffiti, his target has been to transform this raw and gritty influence into another language that speaks to audiences who otherwise may not experience or understand the genuine motivations behind these movements. By utilizing sculptural 3d graffiti, vinyl and fabric printing, spray painted murals and canvas- bound paintings alike, he has made a point to infiltrate any potentially artistic settings with a creation that translates a not- so common language into a visual expression unique for each application. Martino aims to reinvigorate the ideals and motives that made rap and graffiti so genuine before the late 2000’s, using new technologies, machinery and materials to expose alternate methods of expression for a world growing faster than its people.
