Mary Leigh Fitzmorris
After an early career as a pastry chef, Mary Leigh stumbled into scenic art in an effort to leave the food service industry. She took a humbling job sweeping floors at a fabrication shop for a large-scale live event production company and quickly found her artistic abilities were a perfect match for faux finishing. She moved from sweeper to painter for a project at Star Wars Launch Bay for Disney World, and soon after went on to be Lead Finisher for large events and installations such as NFL Draft 2017, Comedy Central: Stand Up Presents, and The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience. Now, after a stint as a scenic for movie sets, she is excited to be a part of the talented team at Professional Scenic Services. Referring to herself as “artistic not artsy” she’s found the re-creation of real life textures both a fun challenge and a seamless fit for her talents. Moreover, her thirst for new skills coupled with access to unique projects has allowed her familiarity and expertise with a multitude of focuses, from body work to automotive paints to MIG welding. She is loving all the creative opportunities Seismique has presented, and she can’t wait to keep moving forward!
